Description:
The Communications Engineer is responsible for design, development, integration, and test of aviation related communications systems for a developmental program. Specific tasks performed in this role are requirements management, system integration, test plan development and test execution of various types of communications systems. Responsibilities: perform communication system analysis and system performance trade studies; document system requirements and interfaces, with traceability to platform requirements; perform review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration; perform liaison duties to disseminate information to suppliers and other Integrated Product Teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements include a BS in Engineering (Electrical/Computer Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace) or related technical discipline (Physics, Mathematics), and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Equivalent industry experience will be considered as an alternative to specific degrees. Top Secret security clearance is required and ability to obtain special access clearances.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience in the integration and test of aviation related communications systems or component sub-systems. Working knowledge of communication engineering theory is desired.
